Duration: 38 weeks (27 August 2024–23 May 2025)

Who it's for: Designed for students who need extended time to strengthen key academic skills, this pathway offers an intensive, year-long experience that will fully prepare them to succeed at EF Academy.

Structure:

– First 27 weeks: Students develop academic and executive functioning skills through intensive, full-day courses that are tailored to the student's individual needs.

– Final 11 weeks: Participants apply their newly acquired academic skills across six subject areas.

Assessment: We provide monthly progress reports with detailed feedback, along with individual meetings to celebrate student growth and create plans for improvement. The program director is also available for family conferences.

Integration: Participants join current EF Academy students for art and physical education classes, after-school clubs, and a wide range of campus activities. They’re fully integrated into the school community, ensuring a smooth transition into ninth or tenth grade.

Support: Students receive personalized academic support and are paired with trained Dorm Parents and Resident Assistants. Many Preparation Program teachers continue working with students after the program has ended, fostering strong relationships throughout high school.

Duration: 30 weeks (9 January 2025–8 August 2025)

Who it's for: This pathway is designed for students who already possess the foundational academic skills necessary for an American-style classroom. Over the course of a full semester, students will enhance their skills and adjust to life in a boarding school environment.

Structure:

– First 11 weeks: Students will continue developing their academic skills alongside the fall pathway cohort.

– Final 19 weeks: Students will apply their academic skills across six to eight subjects, with a special focus on building academic language abilities.

Assessment: We provide monthly progress reports with detailed feedback, along with individual meetings to celebrate student growth and create plans for improvement. The program director is also available for family conferences.

Who it's for: Designed for students with strong academic foundations, this program supports a seamless transition into our international, American-style classroom.

Structure: This rigorous academic program is comprised of four-week-long units of study, which will each help students strengthen their skills in areas such as critical thinking, research, and academic writing.

Assessment: We provide regular progress monitoring to ensure a smooth transition into EF Academy.

Integration: Participants join current EF Academy students for art and physical education classes, after-school clubs, and a wide range of campus activities. They are fully integrated into the school community through the end of the academic year, and from June to August, get to connect with our international summer school students. Altogether, this experience ensures a smooth transition into ninth or tenth grade.

Support: Students receive personalized academic support and are paired with trained Dorm Parents and Resident Assistants. Many Preparation Program teachers continue working with students after the program has ended, fostering strong relationships throughout high school.

Duration: 9 weeks (25 June 2025–29 August 2025)

Who it's for: Designed for students with strong academic skills, this pathway will help them acclimate to boarding school life and experience American-style schooling.

Structure:

– First 3 weeks: Students learn how to acclimate to U.S. classroom expectations and boarding school life.

– Next 3 weeks: Participants engage in rigorous development of their academic skills.

– Final 3 weeks: Students apply their newly enhanced skills in a variety of practical and academic ways.

Assessment: We provide regular progress monitoring to ensure a smooth transition into EF Academy.

Integration: Students will have sufficient time to acclimatize to boarding school life and engage with our summer school students from all around the world.

Support: Students receive continuous individual support and progress monitoring throughout the program, ensuring they have an easy transition into their ninth- or tenth-grade experience.
