Supporting Our Community During the California Wildfires

This scholarship is for students who have lost their home and are facing barriers to attending school due to the wildfires, regardless of their financial situation or background. 

You will be enrolled as a full-time student, integrating fully as a member of the EF Academy student body.  The costs include education, meals, university counseling, housing if choosing to board, and extracurricular activities (clubs, field studies, and sports).   

Base tuition rates at EF Academy are currently set as follows: Day Students - $42,000 + $3,500 student life fee, 5 Day Boarding Students - $66,500 + $3,900 student life fee, 7 Day Boarding Students - $69,500 + $4,900 student life fee .

This scholarship is designed to provide a temporary solution for students to complete the 2024-25 school year in person. However, we understand that some students may feel settled and wish to continue their high school education as part of our community. For families interested in remaining at EF Academy for future years, a guaranteed 25% scholarship off the future tuition and fees will be provided.  If your financial situation requires more assistance, you can apply for financial aid and, if approved, receive up to a 50% reduction in your overall cost to attend. 

EF Academy will work with families who require a payment plan. 

A complete admissions application typically includes transcripts from the past two years (including the current year), a recommendation form completed by a current teacher, student essay responses, a parent form, and an interview. We understand that recent events will pose challenges for some students and families, and we are happy to work with you to gather what information is possible, recognizing there may be limitations. 

All students on campus are assigned a house parent. House parents are part of a student’s trio of care along with academic advisors and university and academic counselors. House parents live full-time in our dormitories and offer students support through frequent check-ins, helping students to build life skills and always have an open-door policy. Additionally, students have access to an on-campus health center staffed with nurses, a well-being counseling team, and our beloved therapy dog, Guava.

While our campus is in Northern Pasadena, we thankfully were spared any damage during the evacuation and were able to return to campus following safety protocols and start classes on Monday, January 13.  Our hearts go out to the schools, businesses, and countless residents who were not as fortunate, and it will be a central mission of EF Academy Pasadena to help the community heal and rebuild in the years to come.
