EF Academy Ambassador Program

This program offers students the opportunity to serve as representatives for their school and develop as responsible global leaders.

What is an EF Academy Ambassador?

EF Academy Ambassadors embody the EF Academy Student Profile in all aspects of their lives. On or off campus, Ambassadors are role models for their school community—setting a good example even in challenging situations, and always willing to help others.

Ambassadors play an integral role in developing student life and activities on campus and act as representatives of EF Academy. The program is open to students in New York, Pasadena, and Oxford who wish to become leaders in their community and promote the values that EF Academy stands for.

Ambassador responsibilities

EF Academy Ambassadors must fulfil certain responsibilities in order to participate in the program. In exchange, Ambassadors can expect certain rewards and benefits.

What we expect from you

  • Act as leaders within our school community by engaging students in residential life and supporting activities (e.g. Welcome Days)

  • Attend monthly meetings with other Ambassadors

  • Serve as a point of contact for current and prospective students regarding student life—leading campus tours, sharing your student experiences, etc.

  • Support Admissions & Marketing by representing EF Academy in your home country and around the world—sharing your experience in videos, events and social media

  • Participate in a student-wide project aimed at enhancing daily life

What you can expect from us

  • Professional development courses provided by EF Academy to enhance your skillset for becoming a responsible global leader

  • Team-building activities with other Ambassadors—challenges, games, workshops and more

  • Summer internship opportunities to gain hands-on work experience

  • Valuable experience and references for university applications

  • Credits towards CAS requirements (Oxford)

  • Project planning & development support

What does an Ambassador look like?

Ambassadors strive to fulfil EF Academy's vision to foster true global citizenship through our multicultural learning community. We welcome students with far-reaching skills and interests who aspire to develop the traits of the EF Academy Student Profile.

Learner

Ambassadors are critical thinkers who find joy in learning new skills. They learn both independently and in groups and reflect and take every opportunity to enhance their learning.

Leader

We can rely on Ambassadors to step up to leadership situations and challenges. They accept responsibility, know how to communicate, and can inspire and collaborate with others.

Scholar

By engaging with current events and knowing how to think analytically and imaginatively, Ambassadors have the skills to gather and synthesize information—all traits of true Scholars.

Global Citizen

Ambassadors recognize the interconnectedness of all people. They are open to alternative viewpoints and know how to discuss conflicting perspectives respectfully.

How do you apply?

Applications to the EF Academy Ambassador program are open to New York students in Grades 9-11 and Oxford students in Year 1 (Grade 11). To be considered for the program, students must complete the application form linked below.

The deadline for accepting applications is:

New York: Friday, February 9th.

Oxford: Monday, February 19th.
